Joseph P. (Joe) Durham, Jr. was born in Dawson, Georgia in 1978. He graduated magna cum laude from Valdosta State University in 2000, and then attended Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2003. Mr. Durham was a member of the Moot Court Board, the Mercer Client Counseling Team and the Advanced Writing, Research, and Drafting Program. Upon graduation from law school, he joined the firm as an associate and became a member in 2008.
Another large portion of Mr. Durham's practice is devoted to civil litigation and trial practice with an emphasis on professional negligence, personal injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Durham routinely lectures and gives presentations on risk management, litigation avoidance and other related topics to a variety of audiences, including hospitals, nursing homes and medical practices. A significant part of Mr. Durham's practice focuses on divorce and family law.
Mr. Durham is a member of the Dougherty Circuit and American Bar Associations, and the State Bar of Georgia. He is currently on the Board of Trustees at Terrell Academy, Inc. and previously served
on the Board of Directors for the Food Bank of Southwest Georgia.
In 2008, Mr. Durham was named one of Southwest Georgia’s “40 under 40.” He was recognized as a “Rising Star” in the fields of medical malpractice and personal injury litigation for 2011 - 2017. The Atlanta Magazine and Super Lawyers have also honored Mr. Durham with the same distinction.
